What to expect

Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, we want every visit to Corte to feel comfortable, intentional, and seamless. Here’s a simple breakdown of what to expect before, during, and after your appointment.

Pre-Visit
Before booking, take a moment to explore our Instagram to get a feel for the salon and each stylist’s work. We encourage you to choose the artist whose style best resonates with your vision.

Once you're ready, head to our booking page to schedule your appointment. Be sure to review our FAQ section for helpful info on how to find our salon—Corte is tucked away on the second floor in Woodley Park, so we've included details to make your arrival stress-free.
The consultation
Every appointment begins with a personalized consultation—this is where we really get to know you and your hair.

We’ll talk about:
-
Your hair’s history, goals, and everyday routine
-
Your preferences, lifestyle, and maintenance expectations
-
Any inspiration, reference photos, or ideas you’d like to share

We’re here to listen and collaborate. Our goal is to align your haircut or color with who you are and how you live—whether you arrive with a clear vision or just a feeling. You'll never be rushed, and you'll always be heard.

After goodbye
If something doesn’t feel quite right after your visit, we’ve got you. Clients have up to one week after a haircut or color service—and up to three days for short cuts—to request a complimentary touch-up. We want you to leave feeling confident and happy, every time.

If you love your look (and we hope you do!), we’d be so grateful if you left us a review or tagged us in your hair selfies. It means the world to us and helps others discover Corte through your experience.
How to prep
To make the most of your appointment, we kindly ask that you arrive with your hair:
-
Clean, ideally 1–2 days post-wash
-
Free of buildup, oils, dry shampoo, or heavy stylers
-
Worn down, as you’d typically wear it out (no ponytails, buns, or braids)

This helps us get a true sense of your natural texture, shape, and how your hair moves—so we can deliver the most accurate cut or color possible.

If you’re still unsure, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help guide you to the right appointment.

Who should I book with?
Each stylist at Corte brings their own strengths and specialties to the table. You can learn more about each of us under the Team tab to see who might be the best fit for your hair type, style, and goals.
Still not sure? Reach out! We’re happy to help pair you with the right stylist for your needs.
How long are your services?
Service times vary depending on what you're booking. You'll find an estimated duration listed with each service under the Services tab.
Haircuts typically range from 60 minutes to an hour and a half, while color appointments and treatments may take longer. We always recommend giving yourself a little buffer time so your experience feels relaxed and unrushed.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time or do not show up, 50% of the service cost will be charged.
Last-minute cancellations and no-shows impact our stylists, who set aside time specifically for you. That time can’t always be filled on short notice, and it directly affects their schedule and income. We appreciate your understanding and support in respecting our team’s time.
What’s your privacy policy?
